Frequently asked

Does it need an internet connection?
No. Altitude and coordinates come from your device’s location services and marks are stored locally, so you can capture and browse offline. Only place-name lookup is more precise when you’re online.
How accurate is the altitude?
GPS vertical accuracy is usually lower than horizontal positioning and can be off by ±10–50 m. Heightmark shows the current accuracy estimate and suggests retaking in open sky when it’s poor.
Where is my data stored?
Records are stored in the app’s on-device sandbox. The developer has no server and does not receive or collect them. If device or iCloud Backup is enabled, Apple system backups may include app data; deleting the app removes its local data from the device.
Can I delete a mark?
Yes. Open any mark’s detail page and tap delete in the top-right; its photo and note are removed with it.
Which devices and languages are supported?
iPhone, iOS 17 and later. The interface is available in English and Simplified Chinese, following your system language.
Is it free?
The core capture and atlas features are free to use.
